I had thought that maybe in the aftermath of the Tucson shooting Saturday, they might not have the nerve to continue soliciting support their misguided missive - that they'd at least take a respectful break from the relentless pursuit of such absurdity.
I have received a call from them for the past week...even Christmas Eve. I have requested to be taken from the list and they hung up on me. I finally got mad enough...I blocked their number from our phone. We'll see now if they use a new number. I called it back and it is NRA, which is fine, but DO NOT hang up on me. There is a thing called RUDE!!!! They have a lot of courage to ask for a donation after acting this way.
It most definitely is the NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION. I, too, returned the call, pressed one to receive more information, listened to the short spiel (sp?), followed directions to get my number removed. This number IS NOT a collection agency. But most annoying... I actually answered a day or so ago, and the woman refused to give me the update, insisting that she would call back when my husband was available. As he is deceased, he is not ever going to be available, but she hung up before I could say that ....
When I called the tel# back, 703-291-9005, the recording comes on & it's the National Rifle Association, it goes through how they are updating people about the changes they are making, then it allows you to take the steps to remove your phone number.
We don't owe any $$ but we used to get calls for someone else at our tel#, but I'm confused as to why some people believe it's a debt collector when I call the # it clearly states its the rifle association. Is the debt company spoofing their number? Anyone who can clarify this it's greatly appreciated.
