My grandma received a call from these people just a scam the irs would not have someone call u and tell u that u were being investigated for tax evasion u would be in federal court
I received, and recorded, phone call from 703-552-8233 left on my answering machine, about "getting arrested", call them at this number ... but my cell phone ID indicated the number was from 1-800-111-0011.
This was a "man" first time ... I hung up on him ... second was a "woman", from message left ... but let go into record mode. There was "noise in background", like things falling on wooden floor, etc.
I got this message from a woman . she sounded ridiculous like a foreigner trying to put on a New York accent. I couldn't even understand some of her words. she didn't have my name but she said I was wanted for tax evasion and tax fraud.she said "the moment this call is finished I want you to contact the IRS at this phone number before you get arrested. " HA! she doesn't scare me. let me tell you, the real IRS doesn't contact people this way. we were audited once before and it just doesn't happen this way. They will send you a letter. and I know for certain we did our taxes correctly this time. this is so obviously a scam!
Received this call saying the rep was from IRS, he immediately gave his police officer ID number, and told me he needed my tax fraud attorney's contact information because of a tax evasion and fraud charge. Didn't trust him from the beginning so I questioned why a letter wasn't sent to my house, which he said was but didn't get signed for receipt so wasn't delivered. When I told him this was a scam he tried to intimidate me by saying seven departments would hear the recording of this message. He was very persistent so eventually after arguing with him I decided to end the call. Also, I heard multiple voices in the background so it sounded like other reps were doing the same scam; guessing the call came from India or a neighboring country due to the strong accent of the rep.
