My grandma received a call from these people just a scam the irs would not have someone call u and tell u that u were being investigated for tax evasion u would be in federal court
703 552 8233 -- received call, woman with heavy Indian accent telling me she was from the IRS and did I have a criminal attorney -- I calmly asked her if she could hear me clearly and then told her to FOAD.
I also got a call from this number, Indian accent, basically telling me that I was lying when I said I had no idea what they were talking about. The person was very nasty. Same thing everyone else is saying here--they wanted my criminal attorney info, said the IRS wanted us for tax evasion and fraud, we might get arrested, etc. We file and pay our taxes every year faithfully.

Phone message saying they were calling from the Federal Courthouse and to call them back or have criminal attorney call then back before I get arrested. Was a lady with a forced accent, not sure what origin. Came from a number in Virginia (888-818-1428). When I called the number back to find out what it was about I got an error tone. Seems like an obvious scam.
