I called the Prince William County police. The Chief's office explained that when any county employee makes outbound calls, they go out on a 703-580 number, even though you call in on a 703-791 or -792 number. This is a quirk of a large switchboard. Nothing wrong with it at all as long as they leave a message. It's the hang ups that leave people wondering.
This is a typical erroneous response from Verizon. It is YOUR number that is on the Do Not Call list, not theirs. Telemarketers are supposed to have available the Do Not Call list of numbers and NOT call them, no matter which number they use. What they are doing is spoofing the display on your phone so you can't file a valid report and the FTC can't find them. They are still subject to the regulations, they just ignore them.
On November 5 2012, I got a phone call from 703 580 0762 regarding related to my business. Someone call to my barbershop and threat us that if we continue advertiser our sign the Prince William County will fire us $100/ each sign. I try to call back couple time, but the phone is out of service. Following up I will report to policment of my case.
