Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Total scam:
Called my phone and threaten to arrest me at my work. The lady said her name was Lisa Isaac, badge # 982538. She had an Indian accent and claimed that I had a warrant for my arrest because of tax fraud.
Received call from a different "703" number 1st. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so let it go to answering machine. They left no message. 20 minutes later, call came from this new "703" number. Since it was also a 703 number and so close to the 1st call, I answered the phone as follows:
"Federal Bureau of Investigation/ Fraud Division - this is Agent Bailey speaking. How may I help you?"
Barely got this out before they hung up - lol.
I'm probably in violation of some law for for impersonating and FBI Agent, but it was worth the laugh.
My cell phone always shows who is calling me or who is leaving me a voice message, but not today! When I checked my voice mail I couldn't understand what the man was talking about! The voice was deliberately distorted and I barely understood the phone number he was urging me to call. I checked the message header in the voice message, it was from 703-662-8334. How he managed to leave a message without showing a "phone number" or "Unavailable" on the caller ID. puzzles me! My cell phone has the capability to block unwanted numbers and that's the first thing I did!
