Here's a good one. This was what I can only describe as a "Come to Jesus Robocall." He wanted me to call to accept Jesus as my personal savior. The irony: The number the robo called is a Lutheran church office.
My 84 year old mom received a call from this number last night. She was scared half to death by this call. She didn't know what to do. I called it back this morning only to get a answering machine with a generic message. She has no affiliations with any church and wasn't sure how they got her number.
I got the same "Come to Jesus" call. I'm on the "Do Not Call List" so I have no idea how these people in Virgina got my number or why they would even be calling me when I live in Connecticut. These bible thumpers must be getting desperate to be resorting to mass telemarketing for members.
Nothing more irritating than coming home to have an automated message from Pastor So - & - So telling me to call to receive Jesus as my personal savior. The organization identified was Hurricane Bible Study.
This really is the laziest way to spread the good word. I'm sure Jesus' Spirit is cringing even now. Gives the Christian faith a bad rep!!!
I called the number left - (703) 722-1317 - and got a generic answering machine. I left a message telling them I was on the Fed. Do not Call list, to take my # off their robo call list and if they ever called me again I would file a complaint.
The # that showed on my caller ID was (304) 397-6573
