Richard Parker said he was a police officer with the IRS and that I needed a criminal attorney for my taxes. They knew my name and address. When I asked questions, he gave me his supervisor, Christine Johnson. Both had Indian accents. When I questioned her for details, she hung up on me. I called our local police and they said it was a scam.
Received an "Urgent" call from the IRS telling me a criminal indictment was be filed at 5:30 "today" against me for tax fraud. I kept them on the line explaining the problem and how it could be resolved. When I told the person I would call my wife on my office line to let her know I would be late to a scheduled meeting the person became agitated and said the time was ticking to the filing of a criminal complaint. They finally became frustrated with me and hung up. Scary to think how easily senior citizens could be overwhelmed and make bad choices in a panic.
