"she can't tell any one she is paying off the irs"
They say this because they know other people will advise her is is a scam.
Don't worry. The scammers make these threats to a lot of people. Your mother's phone number is just one of millions these scammers call.
Because of these bullies (and criminals) tell your mother to never answer the phone, let all calls go to voice mail or an answering machine, and then listen to the voice mail or answering machine to see if it is someone she knows. She can then call that person back.
The scammers will call and call and all you can do is ignore them.
number has been calling all day left a message stating IRS collections. When you push 1 to speak to an agent it disconnects, when you call it back it says the number is not available. I do not have any issues or legal proceedings with the IRS.. PEOPLE THIS IS A SCAM DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFO!!!!!! I am an accountant, first of all the IRS does not have an automated machine call people from Virginia.. IRS Location is in Sacramento, California not Virginia.. The IRS will make several attempts to reach you by mail and on occasion will phone you but very rarely does that happen.. Call IRS in Sacramento before giving any of your information to anyone.
I have received the same calls all day but not answered. I received a vm saying it was the irs and they would be coming to visit soon to fill out paperwork. I wish I knew how to block this number. It's got to be a scam because I have never has issues with the irs
I have also received this message from 703-828-0813. I agree that this is a scam. Dont give out personal info or return the call. Have the number blocked.
they called to say that they were starting proceedings to seize my property,,,, when I said 'this does not make sense" they hung up on me.... I am pretty sure this is a scam,,,
