IRS scam.... called 9am this morning! Female, starts off sounding "southern", then evolves into a middle eastern accent. Claims "back taxes to be paid, affidavit with my address on it, turn over to the sheriff's dept if I don't respond"....funny, I was gonna let the cops and IRS know myself, and save them an overseas long distance phone call! 703-879-7147 is their call back number. I hate these pieces of $#!+!!!!!!
caller left long message, asian woman, sounded very serious. said they were from Tax Crimes. said to contact them immediately, otherwise sheriff would come arrest me and confiscate my property.
Very grateful for all of your responses. Received a call this morning from this number with the same IRS story. After reading your responses upon researching the number online, I was prepared with a response. Received a second call this afternoon and I told "Officer Tim" that I was going to notify the authorities of his scam. He hung up.
They just called me again. Left a message at 9am then another at 5pm. Both messages were exactly the same and 1:01 long. It was the indian lady trying to scam me and telling me if I don't call back then the feds may take action.
