I just had the same exact word from word call with the same number. My payday claim was in 2007. I just blocked them they called my employer previously and a lawyer contacted them. I almost paid these idiots!
Got a call from a Mike Rodgers. He left a message saying that 2 felony complaints came across his desk for me. He said that he will move forward with processing the warrants with Douglas County Sheriffs Dept., which is the county I work in if I didnt call him back at this number. Which is weird because it wasnt the number that appeared on my caller id. Not even the same area code. When I called back, he gave me the number to Lakeside Mediation and told me to call them because he didn't have any information on the complaints. I called Lakeside and a woman asked me for my name and last 4 of my social. I gave her my name, but I told her that I didnt want to give anymore information until I knew what this was about. She said "have a nice day" and hung up on me. I called the sheriff department and they said that it was a scam. She told me that if a warrant is issued, you don't get a phone call ahead of time. Also, she told me that they only way a warrant will be issued is if you have been ordered by a judge to pay a judgement and you failed to pay it. The Sheriff told me that you would DEFINITELY know that you owed somebody money before it got to warrant level. This is a scam!!!! She also said that these people are changing their phone numbers so much, there is a way to track them.
DO NOT give this scammer your credit card number! If you already did, call and cancel that credit card IMMEDIATELY! This is a scam. You cannot be arrested for simply being in debt and no debt collection agency can have you arrested anyway. If they call again, don't answer the phone. Better yet, you might want to invest in a call blocker to help avoid these type of calls.
