I just had the same exact word from word call with the same number. My payday claim was in 2007. I just blocked them they called my employer previously and a lawyer contacted them. I almost paid these idiots!
These people said that they were going to arrest me for defaulting on a Payday loan over 4 years ago. They would only accept payment by bank transfer or prepaid card. You can't be arrested for defaulting on a Payday loan. This is a civil matter and not a criminal matter. Don't give these people you info. They are just trying to use high pressure tactics to get you to pay back the payday loan.
I received a call today 4/18/16 from a Lynda Chapman telling me I was going to be arrested tomorrow at 11:00am for a 2 part felony complaint and told me to make sure there were no big dogs, guns, and that I had proper child care if I had small children. I live in Florida she left this phone number to call 1-855-679-7359 to get a hold of the next person then she answered and gave me another number to get Lakeside Mediator Lawyers that would take care of this by calling them at 1-704-247-5085 and getting a court release number. Although when I called Lakeside Mediator Lawyers they told me there was no way out I would just be arrested and wait for what the judge said. This is over a payday load that is over four years old and was cleared up with my bank based on the fact that these companies kept putting money in my account without permission and taking out money without permission. The account has been closed and I haven't heard anything until today and when I questioned Lynda Chapman she said my notice was my first phone call on 4/14/16. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of money is a civil issue not a criminal and a phone call is not a notice a judgment is how the court notifies you and then you sit down and mediate a payment schedule and if you can't agree on a payment schedule you need to see the judge. Don't fall for this scam!!!! It just amazes me how people come up with a new way to scam people everyday!!! These payday companies know they can't take you to court because they charge 70% interest the law says you can't charge more than 29% so I guess they have to come up with some type of SCAM!!!
They called me just the way they called other callers. When i called the # they gave me 704-247-5085. I had said that i wanted the court release # and that i would like to talk to police about that she hung up on me. That is just aweful.
I was contacted at work today telling me I was going to be arrested for bank fraud. Person told me that the Tulsa police would be at my job to arrest me or my home and if I had small children I need to make sure they were taken care of and if I had weapons or a dog to make sure they are put up!! Now I am wondering how they get my phone and work number.
