I missed the call from this number. I called the number back, and received a Verizon Wireless tele-prompt asking me to enter my ten-digit Verizon Wireless number. I do not use Verizon Wireless and have not used Verizon Wireless in the past. I did not press any button in response to the prompts and eventually the prompts asked me for information concerning prepaid phones from Wal-Mart. This may be a phishing scam.
I received this call at 8:10 this morning saying I would win a trip to the Bahamas if I took their survey. I answered 3 questions, and the recording said, you have won a trip to the Bahamas. Press 1 and you will be connected to the operator to get your name and address so we know where to mail your free tickets. When I pressed 1 the call was disconnected. I tried to call this number back and get a recording saying this number is no longer in service. I'm seriously thinking about canceling our land-line service because the phone rigs off the hook constantly with junk like this! I can't believe people are not prosecuted over junk like this!
I didn't answer but called it back - it is Verizon but it is a disconnected number.. Ever since we switched to Verizon I get about 2-3 calls a day like this. So of course I never answer. Or I do just to get the computer dialer a chance to move on.
