Man with accent called twice each for two employees at a different location. He claimed to want to either send a white paper or introduce his company. I sent him to Purchasing three times and slammed down the receiver on the fourth. Immediately following, the phone rang with no number showing. Experience has taught me that these people eventually realize they're appearing on Caller ID and block the phone. Sure enough, man with accent requested a third individual at the same facility as the others, only now, he alleged to be from a hospital. Trying a different tack, I asked whether this was a personal call, and he hung up.
The exact same scenario happened to me. 2 phone calls; Name confirm. hang up. Work phone number confirm. Hang up. When I called the number back, the disconnect message with same similar companies.
Man with heavy accent called and wanted to talk to one of our employees. I told man that employee was in a meeting and I would be happy to take his name and a message. Man said he was from US Postal Services and then hung up Call was from North Carolina. We are in Minnesota. When I tried to return the call, the intercept said the phone number was not in service.
Same MO as others have reported. Man called asking for employee. When informed that the employee didn't have a voicemail he hung up. He called a Physical Therapy business in our building first and gave us THEIR number as a call back number. Creepy! Why are they verifying employment and then hanging up?
A man with a very heavy accent keeps calling wanting me to confirm my name at my work and when I ask what this is in reference too, he hangs up each time. I tried calling the number back and the number is unreachable. This is a form of harassment that needs to stop and the owner of the number fined!!!!
