Kept getting calls (unanswered) from this number which showed it as being from something called 'Found American Vets'. I do not answer unsolicited calls, but this morning, after finally getting to sleep after being up all night, I received a call at 8:03am, awakening me. A loud-mouthed guy said he was with 'Diversified Fund Raising' before I finally could get a word in telling him I did not want the call and not to call again. It seems they're just another scam type operation, like selling tickets to country music shows for 'fund raising' for whoever. Avoid.
Gotten this over and over,,pick up and cut off,I'm so tired of this harrament on&on with many,they should be stopped,we pay for our phones&bill ,the servers should do something about it
On 2-9-2015 at 10:35am the phone rang,caller ID number was 704-438-9994,North Carolina call.I did not answer it and they did not leave a message.I get calls all the time from this number,don't know anybody at this number.Everyday I get calls from the central and western part of North Carolina that are a nuisance.
Calls at least 5 times a day, every day. When we've decided to answer it we've demanded to be removed from their call list. It never works, they keep calling. This has been an ongoing issue for almost a month now. They are giving a very bad reputation to legit Veteran's charities!
This was from AmVets.... the guy started off trying with my first name like we should know each other... and then he tried to be funny and tell me the I wasn't be recruited LOL so funny!!! Then he tried to guilt me with "humor" in a weird way about the soldiers and disabled vets and all he was asking is if he could count on sending me an envelope and me sending it back with money <wink wink>

Look - this goes out to ALL charities and ALL scammers who call my house .... I can't speak for other people but I should.....
If you call MY house about a charity, don't think it is because I am heartless and don't care about it that I don't want to give to charity, I just don't want to donate to your charity over the phone even if you sent me a packet of information. I will research and do my due diligence on what charity/charities that I am going to donate to and how I am going to donate. That makes a difference on how much money goes to the charity.... 10 cent per $1.00 or 85 cent per $1.00 or even 100%
You need to know these things. You need to know the admin cost, you need to know exactly who they represent, what they do with the money, how it is divide and are there scandals? You shouldn't just hap-hazzardly donate to anything. Make sure you are good with what you are donating to... know the good, the bad and the ugly and be prepare, if there is a scandal, to back it up....
As for calling my house with any charity, I don't give to even my most trusted charity over the phone.... it could and has been a scam. I will NEVER as long as my brain is fully functioning give you my credit card or any information over the phone....
Now for scammers... you are the most fun of all... I love when you call.... I get to practice all of the things I learned in drama class, which I received an A+....... It gives me something to do... I love it... It breaks up the day.... I have lists of addresses that go nowhere and fun phones to give you and even hilarious names for your paper work... I will chat with you for hours... it is awesome... that is if i am in the mood....
but when i am not..... i am your worse nightmare... i will give you so much [***] that you wish you never had to pick up a phone to support your family.....
With the holidays approaching.... it is going to be the season of robo-dialing for charity and scammers so.....
Think before you answer.
I don't know if answering helps or hurts or not answering helps or hurts because there are just so many out there... I, personally just answer and all there name to the blocked call list.... so if they call again, I know who they are and who to have fun with :-)
