I get annoying calls from this number claiming to be raising funds for disabled vets. I have asked them not to call again and that I am on a do not call list, but they do. Unfortunately, my office phones are forwarded to my cell every day for a 2 hours to answer after hour calls. When this number comes up, I have to assume it is a business call. The caller is VERY pushy and rude and tries his best to not let me get a word. Both of my kids are military and I choose to support vets in a more personal way and don't appreciate being bullied into handing over money. There are way too many scams going on nowadays and we have to be smart. I am a big supporter of our military, especially disabled vets and believe this country does not do enough to help these people after all of the sacrifices they have made. But I want to be able to do my due diligence to pick and choose which organization I donate to.
This number calls every evening between 5 PM & 6 PM just when I'm sitting down to dinner. I never answer but just like "The gift that keeps on giving" these unwanted calls keep on coming. I'm getting so fed up with them I'm thinking of disconnecting my land-line and turning off my $19 TracPhone unless I have an emergency. Then all I have to worry about is ripping up the dozens of snail mail letters I get on a weekly basis.
Check out the Wikipedia info for this professional telemarketer. They gave the actual cause less than 7% last year in collected donations. So out of almost $5,000,000.00 the actual charity received only about $300,000 - the rest went to pay the telemarketers expenses and salaries.
Also of importance to note is that they have NO working website, no posted phone numbers or working contact info. Pretty much nothing to lead back to anyone who heads this deal up.
Call back to the numbers that show up on your caller ID just go to either a voice mailbox that is full, or to a voice mailbox that is never answered.
A number of charity watch groups have this one listed as a "do not donate" status due to their extremely low percentage and high cost ratio. They also questioned their lack of information - as in why they do not have an actual physical address listed where they ACTUALLY have an office.
