SCAM! Some guy claiming to be a David Harris called from a 704-479-7131 Magic Jack number. Told me I would loose power to my business in 30 minutes for an over due bill that was sent to his collection agency unless I called 1-888-547-2922. Said he works for CNNP a collection agency for Reliant. I told him after struggling to understand his broken English that he was a liar and no company would threaten by phone. I called him after *69 gave me his #. So much that he finially hung up on me and turned off his phone or changed his #. I then get another call. Automated machine says "goodbye" after 10 seconds or so. *69 it a 713-524-7688 #. Call it it says "this number is not a working #. So then I call the 888 number and two times got two different recordings. The 3rd try some American lady said she worked for a car company and their # was 832 area code. I googled the dealership name they don't have an 832 #. Called 888 again and literally as myself two of my customers and an employee are listening to the automated system that says wait on the line for the next representative (never happens) we all 4 hear a run on sentence "Thankyouforcallingtospeaktoarepresentativepleaseholdontheline" the second time through the run on sentence it adds "...tospeaktoamanagerpress1tospeaktoDavidHaypress2 (Hay it said not Harris as he mentioned previously) then the 4th it adds a 3rd option. So if you get a call from someone saying call 1-888-547-2922 ext. 1307 Its a SCAM

Extremely rude and persistent w/ heavy accent threatens power disconnect in 30 minutes. Told him his caller ID showed up as something different and he said he's "see me in half an hour". Showed on caller ID as "Jing Zing". DO NOT ANSWER!!!!
Similar experience as others. "Curtis" just called, claiming to be a technician for FPL. He stated he would be over in 30 minutes to disconnect our power if we did not call 1-800-970-9181 x1307 to speak with their billing department. After the call I *69'd his number and got back 704-479-7131. I then called our power company directly. They assured me no such action is in progress, nor would they ever make such a call. A word to the wise. If you ever receive a distressing call like this try and keep a cool head, trust your intuition, and do your homework. The majority of "reputable" companies would never do what these scammers try to pull off. And lastly ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS contact the company directly for the truth.
