I don't believe you at first or second. I once recovered money from a holder of abandoned funds, via the Unclaimed Property program which was and still is managed by my state treasurer. I was notified through the state's own verifiable list, not cold calls from strangers. The property issuer by law also sends paper notices to a last known address. The source of the funds was one I recognized, not a mysterious donor. The claim process was very easy and FREE. No "processing charge", "research fee", or anonymous "attorney" was needed, nor is one ever demanded, nor is it wise to borrow against the expected payout. State law governs the program; similar law exists in each of the other 49 States.
The updated list of orphaned property is available directly from Treasury or the endorsed search engine MissingMoney.com. While a middleman is not outlawed, nobody should need to pay a "finder" service or an attorney for a dead simple job. No one under any circumstances should pay before the job is done, only after. Because these property lists are public records, it's easy for the genuine parties involved to resolve their claim issues. It's also easy for grade school dropouts in a hidden grimy call center to swindle people of advance funds and never process a property claim.
Now, is that enough "greater good" service for you or do I have to run down the TCPA damages you'll owe me if I get one of these "found money" calls?

I looked at that earlier but didn't feel like doing a report. The BBB has them listed as a sole proprietorship, yet the contact has given herself the title of Vice President. They are not registered under that name in North Carolina. The address is yielding some interesting results. Did you run the company web site?
