Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Certain that this is a scam. Received a call from Jane Navarro. Said she was with the legal department. I asked for the company name, she said Global Solutions. She wanted me to verify personal info, SS#, etc. I refused, so she said they would come to my home and my work to serve me. I said that would be great, looking forward to it and she hung up.
I received a voice mail on 9 December 2015 stating that I owed a pay day loan from 2010. I called them the next day and they wanted to set up payment arrangements which I did. But I thought about it and said to myself, I paid that debt off through another company which every time I try to call them I always receive a busy signal on the phone. I went to my bank, and received proof that I paid another company for this same debt and I asked these current folks where are they located and she told me in alpharetta, ga.,but the post mark on the envelope was from Charlotte NC. I feel as though this is a scam and have notified the original creditor of such and they're looking into it for me cause the letter that they sent me looks fake as ever and they say that they're court mediation in a global mediation group envelope with a Charlotte, NC post mark. I saw a attorney and she stated that this is a scam and not to answer their calls and when I showed her the letter she just laugh. I would love some feedback
