And I am just as guilty, as I did not proofread before I hit post. Instead of saying "and assume that the number they are searching for has nothing to do with this site and no amount of complaining here will block the calls they are receiving." I should have said, "They assume that the number they are searching for has something to do with this site."
This is one of a few numbers the Red Cross Blood Donation folks use to contact people. It may be about an upcoming appointment, a missed appointment, a high need for a particular blood type, etc. In my case, I provided my number to them when I joined the Blood Donor online facility to make appointments for donations. I believe they will stop calling if you call them and explain that you prefer (opt-out) not to get any more calls. See their web site Red Cross Blood donation (Google it) and look for contact information to contact them if this number fails to get through. Better yet, when you find the site, sign up and schedule an appointment to donate blood. Might help someone and some day they may be helping you in your time of need ;
I have been a regular donor since Vietnam. I am not an employee or promoting the Red Cross. We all deserve our privacy. My phone has call block and this number is now blocked ;) Blocking one like the Charlotte regional doesn't stop other locations from calling when they run short of blood. Better to use the web site to stop this type call ;)
Have a heart condition that I take medication for, told them that I cannot give and they said they will take me off their list. But they have called me ever few weeks after that for the last 6 months. I would like to help but I can't so it is very annoying when they a) call and call and call and b) say they are going to add a note to my record that I can't give and then just keep calling anyway.
