He just called me and said the same thing about my brother. Since my brother is no where near me, I knew it was a scam of some kind. He did not threaten me at all, just hung up when I told him he definitely had a wrong number. The man had a very heave Hispanic accent. Interestingly, the police were not all interested in this. They said they know about it, and cannot do anything about it.
Guy called me say my brother was in an accident and my brother asked him to call me. I won't go into all of the details but eventually he said my brother ran over his nephew and he was holding him hostage until I paid the ransom. I laughed at him and f bombed me and told me was coming to kill me after he kills my brother. The police said they've heard of this scam thousands of times. This guy needs to learn finesse.
