This number called this Saturday morning like 9 or something all the message says is Robin there two times scared me!! Who the hell is this!How do I block it?
Caller ID showed it as Unavailable. The 948 is from August. I get calls all the time from the August area, seeming to be every Saturday morning about this time. Have no idea who it is or what they want. Sometimes it's from a land line, some times it's a wireless caller. Different numbers, same 948 prefix. I won't spend the money to trace it. I can get enough information from where the call is coming from depending on which site I use to get a little more information to the town or city it's coming out of. Other than that, I'm not interested in knowing details about the caller. I live in Georgia and there's so many prefixes in the area codes, I've got to take time to find out where it's coming from. 706 covers a lot of areas from the upper Eastern part of central of Georgia. Dahlonega is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, ( North East ), Athens is slightly North East of Atlanta, ( 67 miles from Atlanta ) and August is (South East ). It's a very large area code to the State line of South Carolina. Like all calls that comes in under unknown names, unavailable etc. I don't answer it--voice mail can get it.
I got a call from this number this morning around 9 am. Since I have friends in the 706 area code I answered and a man started telling me about the fireman's union or something and talked about changing batteries in smoke detectors then all of a sudden said he would be sending my pledge package so I immediately hung up. Just another scammer I am sure. I have the capability to block calls at the central office if any caller ID information is not given. I believe "Unavailable" for the name falls in that category. I will see if that works. This guy was very aggressive and rude.
A man called and asked for my girlfriend by her first name and when I asked who was calling, he said "actually we were calling for both of you" and a solicitation for the GA Firefighters Association started playing. I hung up and called back. A recording came on that said they were closed or helping other patrons. Still don't know who it was, but will find out.
