Answered a call from this number. He asked if so and so was there (my first name). I asked who's calling twice - no answer - I hung up. Totally strange!!!
Called, said he was from Police Activity League and stated he would mail a pledge package to me, and I could choose a non-tax deductible donation of $35 or $45. When I told him $35 he said great, transferred me to a Michael who asked if I rould be using visa, MasterCard, debit or checking, told him no, they were to mail me the pledge package and that I give my information to no one. This Michael then stated he did not need the 3 digit securt code. I told them that's not true. He then wanted me to verify my name and address, I told him to read what he has and I'll verify it. This Michael stated he could not do so and hung up. Blocking their number, total scam, true fund raisers will send their information to you, are tax deductible, and will not transfer you to another person to solicit your personal information.
I'm an independent sales representative and usually answer unknown callers with my business name, which works because they immediately hang up unless the are interested in the services .
