Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
I received a call from this number and it was a recording stating that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against us and we should call (202) 738-1947 immediately. This is ridiculous. The IRS always sends important communications by certified mail that requires a signature. I don't know who these people are, but they are up to no good. I hope some law enforcement agency catches up with them some day.

This number just called us in Switzerland with the same Story about Virus infection of the Computer. Luckily I was home early and my wife could pass me the phone. I asked them for prove of identity, that's when the call suddenly was over. It's just terrible to know that they call to foreign countries, probably knowing that non native English Speakers may have difficulties getting the real reason of this call and will grant Access.
I received a call today from this number (707-822-9870) out of Arcata, CA with no caller i.d. It was an automated recorded message [not human] that it was the IRS and they are filing a lawsuit against me. The call back number is in Washington DC (202-738-1947). Looked up that number, too, and it is also part of the IRS scam thing going on here.
DO NOT BELIEVE THESE CALLS. The IRS will not inform you of anything they want you to know by phone. You will always receive notification in the mail first. Should you receive a call from the IRS, caller i.d. will show the call is from the IRS. They don't hide their identity like scammers do.
Also receiving calls from this number at all hours - I'm in Oz. When I answer there is no response. Is there some authority in the US that we can report this annoying scam number to for it to be disconnected?
