Just got a response from this person off a craigslist add via text message when trying to sell my car. He only wanted to pay using pay pal and said he could not come see the car due to his job and that he would have to forward my address to a transport company to come pick up the car, he also said that it would cost him $600.00 to have the transport company pick it up. I told him I do not have a Paypal account and I preferred cash only. This seemed very suspicious for many reasons 1. Both my husbands cell phone number and my cell phone number was posted in the ad and the buyer choose to contact me (female) instead of my husband. 2. The reply was by text message only. 3. The area code was not local " Chicago, Illinois".My husband did a reverse number look up on the phone number and realized that the buyer is from Chicago heights, Illinois 4. The description of the car was clearly stated in the ad and the ad was still posted and the text requested the current condition and asked if I still had the car. 5. When I posted the ad it said $2500.00 or best offer and the buyer interested said he was ok with the price and condition, never did the buyer try to negotiate a price " who would if you do not intend on buying the car" 6.The buyer stated that he could not come look at the car due to his job. 7.The buyer said he had to send a transport company to come pick up the car costing him $600.00 dollars out of pocket " for a car he has never took a look at". 8 The buyer sent my address to the transport company before every setting up mutual payment arrangements. 9. The buyer had payment arrangements planned , buyer statement " hope you have a Paypal account, My response " I do not have a paypal account not sure how that works I would prefer cash only". needles to say I have not heard back from the buyer and the transport company did not show up to pick up the car......This is clearly a scam..... I posted this number across facebook and reported it to the FBI cyber crime division do not respond to this number....................SCAM SCAM SCAM.................
