This indian fellow wanted my phone number so he could know who I was, ultimately to give me a lower interest rate on 'whatever' credit card had the highest interest rate. He said definitively, that I was paying way too much interest on ALL my credit cards. I hung up.
I am in Canada and this number keeps comming up on my phone...when I call back all I get is a busy signal.....I am starting to get EXTREMELY ticked off.
I am in Canada and traced the area code to Council Bluffs, Iowa. There was a prerecorded message on my voice mail informing me that they wanted to offer a low interest rate on my current credit card and press one to connect to an operator. They never mention the credit card company and I believe that this is potentially a scam to get a persons personal information (identity theft).
This is the 2nd call to me from this number. The 1st was 2 weeks ago, the same pre-recorded message others reported. This time I said nothing and waited, silence. When I finally said hello, music started to play but I hung up immediately, not caring to hear the message. I am in Ontario as well.
