This is the second time I have received a call from this number on my cell phone. I didn't answer either time but today I did call back a couple hours after the call came in. It is a pre-recorded message that states, " Welcome to the DNC system. If you would like to add your number to our do not call list, please enter your phone with area code now followed by the pound sign."
I also got this message when I called again..."We're sorry. The number you have called is not accepting calls at this time."
Are mortgage companies exempt from the DNC list? I just realized as I was typing this last sentence that their message is welcoming me to the DNC system...Do Not Call=DNC! duh
I noticed I had a miss call from this number today. I called it back and let it ring over a dozen times - finally a message saying "this number is not accepting phone calls at this time". I don't even recognize the number.
Thus number called my cell phone too! How do you block 'em? My friends know not to call my cell while I'm at work. Not sure how my cell number is being distributed to telemarketers! - [***]!
Complaints for numbers like this one can be filed with the FCC. I'm not sure how much good it will do, but if enough people file formal complaints, perhaps someone will actually fix this:
