We've been have the same problem. I finally was able to talk with someone and got information. The 712 945 0164 is a direct dial number, so you can't call them back. The caller is from National Union Fire Insurance Co in Pittsburg, PA. In our case, they were authorized by Homecomings Financial, a mortgage company to call us. The direct dial number for Natl Union (or the 712-945-0164 no.) is 800-781-8280. They will put you on the Do Not Call List if you request it.
I recived 6 calls from this phone number TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! Between 9 am and 5pm. I just called the company that was listed above and when they answered they said it was AIG insurance. After explaining the problem they said they would place me on a Do Not Call list. I told them I was on the national one and the customer service rep said sometimes they can get around it due to credit cards you own. I think they may be trying to reach the person who owned the number before us, as I know he had Homecomings Morgage.
same as others report -- lots of calls, no one there when I answer. Based on the information and research from fellow sufferers, above, I went to the GMAC website and sent an email to customer service, asking them to notify their departments [we have mortgages with both GMAC and Homecomings, their subsidiary] and whoever they "sold" our number to, telling them about our DoNotCall status, and offering to tell the world, the state AG and BBB about their unethical behavior [#1 calling w/o permission, #2 not answering when I do, and #3 requiring me to call them "at their convenience (when they're open)" to discuss it.]
We have received several calls from Global. If you are on the do not call registry, go to their website www.donotcall.com and file a complaint. If you're not registered, go to the website and register your number.
