Alley Threatre in Houston TX, a nice place to see a show, but I havent been there in years. seems like they got ahold of my number then with each 1/2 hour shift change, a new person was calling me wanting me to buy a season pass. I decline, ask them to remove me form the list,. they explain that their sift jsut started and they are picking cards up and calling them. I said what cards? "these cards" (as if I could see) I asked if it was  busienss card, "no" This is not 21 questions, why do you have a card that somehoew commands you to harrass me?
they explain there is no list to remove me from.I asked her to throw away the car, refuses. Ask her to burn the card, she explains there is no smoking in the building. I ask her to get off my phone. hang up. 1/2 hour later. RIIING!! "This is so and so from teh Alley theatre, would you liek to buy a season pass of greatshow and sites for the grteat price of (deep breath)....."

Wow, I can't tell which is worse your spelling ability, aparent dislexia, or your grap of the situation.  True, the Alley Theatre employes people to call former patrons to solicit subscription packages (season tickets).  However, I can equate being ask to purchase a subscription and harrassment, nor has anyone ever called me on the 1/2 hour once I've refused.  With all the preditorial telemarketing that happens, the reason for this website, it's ashamed that someone would drag a great arts organization and venue like the Alley Theatre through the mud...

I'm going for a job at the Alley doing just that. Telemarketing!  The Theater is enriching and the Alley can do the job as well or better than anyone else. Look at it this way you could spend $500.00 for one Texans game and lose. You get season tickets at about $400.00 at the Alley and everyone leaves a winner. Great business gifts etc.

had enough -- won't renew next year
I suggest loyal alley patrons like myself who are annoyed by these calls find sites (citysearch, yelp, houston chronicle, google, bing, merchant circle) and let people know how the alley pays back their loyal patronage -- with unsolicited, annoying phone calls that waste your phone minutes and your life.

The Alley is very bad about repeatedly calling patrons and haranguing them to buy a season subscription, etc. Not bad enough to keep me from occasionally seeing a play, but they are much worse about telemarketing than other Houston arts organizations.
