Somebody from this number tried to call me, but left no message (since I wasn't at home this morning, anyway). Then they called my wife's school, and the message the secretary took said that there was some legal action being made against me, and the secretary said they were from a "law firm of Philip Acers (sp)" out of Houston, wanting me to call them back! For one thing, all my online payday loans have been paid off since 2006 when we filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy! This is a total scam, since any so-called "legal" actions taken against someone HAVE to be done IN WRITING!! They have to notify you by first class mail, or if it is a pressing issue, by certified mail (the State of Nebraska recently sent me a certified letter asking me to pay off last year's state taxes, but I'm already on a pay plan). In other words, my corporate attorney told me they have to notify you in writing. If they balk, they're not legit!
They just called, I declined the first call, then they called right back from 713-370-9332. I got some strange foreign sounding man on my phone, claiming to be from a law firm. I shut him down, went into my blocker and blocked calls from this point on. So tired of the scam calls. My cell looks like a business number and I the foolishness all of the time.
Men with foreign accents impersonating officers stating they are from the U.S.Crime Bureau - a John Black and a James Parker. Threatening law suits, court actions, contacting my work, etc. They use foul language and their version of threatening antics saying my social security number has been compromised and for me to save myself - really? Don't threaten me....I have saved all of their voicemails and have contacted my attiorney and the FTC. These people need to be stopped. They are a thorn in my side!
