good to know others are reporting this debt collection service which choses not to obey the fdcpa. i got a call friday from this number, asking for a person with a certain korean name. I truthfully told them I don't know anyone by that name and I've had this number (which has been a cellphone number for 2 years) for 5 years, and that for months I've been telling people who call under that subterfuge the same thing and not to call me again. The caller acknowledged being in debt collection (tho not the company name) and said they'd only had the account since november 3 and would not call back.
I'm not holding my breath, since the calls escalated after I reported some of my health insurance company's unethical practices to Virginia, the state that insurer insists is most favorable to them in not enforcing its laws and regulations (tho the insurer also boasts of its friends among "all regulators" state and federal and told me to check my policy's gag provisions while advertising both its "quality" and affiliation with United Healthcare and its big-data practices). Yup, I'm crazy enough to still refuse to pay a bill backed by altered electronic medical records, although my health insurer wins (as it says it always does) because I'm not getting treated for the medical condition it diagnosed soon after I subscribed (fyi it insists on its property right on keeping my diagnosis date as that of the first multi-party complaint letter, all hand-delivered and mailed copies of which my insurer says it never received)
they call me and are rude I have never been behind except one month due to a heart attack. Total harassment they actually are rude and no reason to treat a person rudely on an answer machine. you return the call and you get a voice mail they ask you to return the call to paul scott 1-800-741-2100 x2759
These people called me twice in a 10-minute span, but the person they asked for was the individual to whom my home number was registered before it was registered to me. The caller was polite, and I explained that the person he called no longer owns this number and he seemed satisfied. We'll see if that continues, or if I get more calls.
they call me about avon even though I don't owe anything and closed my account with them back in January. I called Avon Headquarters in NYC and confirmed with them I had no account left and she instructed me to ignore calls and letters and it would be taken care of. I am sick of being harassed.
Recieved a collection letter to my son (currently deployed). Never having heard of LTD financial, I called them from my cell phone, one of the things that this "professional" said to me was "It's in the phone book look it up." Totally refused to validate collection action. Someone else called me later and I gave the following information.
1) currently deployed
2) This is NOT a contact number for him. Please do not call this number again.
3) The people at the number I looked up in the phone book were helpful at verifying the debt. I have paid it and this should be off your books within 10 days.
they have not called back since their first call. I have received nothing else in the mail.
