Call from this number informed me that I had an error on my Windows computer. Foreign accent gentleman said that I should turn my computer on and he will help me fix it. I told him that there must be a mistake because I don't have a windows computer. Then he said there was no mistake and he told me my name and address, only he had the address incorrect. So I said no, wrong address, must be someone else's computer. So he hung up. I think this is a SCAM.
This is a scam. A man with a foreign accent called and said that my windows operating system is not working right and that he has personally gotten a lot of notifications saying that it was not working right. So I asked him to verify my information before we go anywhere else. He verified my phone number and the name he gave me was the person that lived at my house over 20 years ago. Once he said that name I hung up. I also do not own a windows computer.
I had the same experience as the others that have reported on this site. A man with an Indian accent called and said he was from technical services and that my computer was downloading viruses. I told him that I believed he was lying to me and scam me. He said, "you think I'm lying? [***] you!" and hung up.
