Recorded message mentioned GE security and something about their being aware of high crime in my area and that they will help me to fight that crime by putting some kind of sign on my lawn, with my permission, free of charge. If I press one button, they will go ahead and do it, and if I press another button they will put me on their do-not-call list. I don't press any buttons when I get these calls, because I do not want to play their game by their rules. I am on NYS and federal do- not -call lists, and there is no need for me to press buttons, These "free of charge" offers appear to be ploys, a way of getting around the prohibition of soliciting business from people on the do-not-call lists, and getting the prospective customer's business by giving him the hardware for free, and then charging for the software, i.e., the service that goes with the hardware.
