My mother is a certified tax preparer and has managed at Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block, so when I first received this message I called her, as she has done all my taxes. She told me the IRS NEVER CALLS, they will mail you if there is a legitimate issue with your taxes. I was scared s&*#less when I first heard this but I want everyone to know they are nothing but

I received this mesaage several times from a hada grey. I called the number back in which a man who spoke poor English proceeded to tell me that I was going to be arrested immediately if I didn't take action today. They told me that I had miscalculations on my tax returns and that they already gave me two chances by sending me certified letters, which I obviously did not receive. I asked how to rectify this as I was initially believing them. He said I needed to pay $3000. I asked for something in writing. His response was that after I paid it they would send me something. He proceeded to tell me that I could not get a third party involved such as an attorney, accountant or spouse. He instructed me to keep him on the phone and go purchase an ITUNES card to pay this. At this time I said this is not legitimate and that he needed to send me something in writing in which he further proceeded to tell me that the reason I could not pay with a credit card was because I was black listed and a criminal and I was going to be prosecuted criminally. At this time I got my boyfriend at my office and we recorded the conversation. The man on the other line was extremely angry and rude once I put him on speaker. He refused to speak at that point and hung up. He immediately called back which showed up as "No Caller ID" and said that he was giving me a chance to make this whole and once my boyfriend spoke he hung up.
Please do not fall for this. I hope theae people are caught and criminally prosecuted. This scared me to death, as I am sure it has other people as well.
I guess they're at it again. This time they called my business number, didn't answer but, like everybody else, left a message. FYI: What you have to remember is to always check off the little box that states that you do not want your information shared, when applying for credit, insurance, warranties or anything else, if you don't have that option then write it on the application, etc., for these scammers will buy a consumers list from whoever has them for sale and then from that they have enough info on you to make some people think that they are legit. They called a friend of mine last year and scared them so bad that they paid them $1000 with (as per requested) a 'green-dot' gift card. You might also want to pass the word to family & friends. You don't want them to get taken too...
