Everyone listen up this is an investigation firm, they're job is trying to located people. They are working for insurance companies, disabilities etc.. and employers. They called and said the were JVC Construction and were going to be in my neighborhood doing estimates. The gentleman knew my name and my husbands. Very Odd.
This number called saying they were from the "Home Center" and not selling anything. When I told him I was on the "Do Not Call" registry, he said he was local and not national.
That's what I want to hear. SUE, SUE, SUE. That no call list is a freaking joke. I would love to know more about what I must do to file a claim in small claims court? I don't care about the amount that I can sue them for. I would just love the opportunity to confront them with their methods and have a judge point out to them how it is harassment and illegal. I would expect to hear them say that it is only a few bad employees and how they do not condone, or encourage these methods. How much business could they actually get from these types of calls? It is beyond me why anybody would give them the time of day even if they are offering something that I might actually be interested in. I am going to have them come out and get an estimate. This house could really use a lot of work. I am going to make them giddy with everything I want done, after all my father died a couple of months ago and left us a good sum of money. I don't mind using his death like this because he hated those people just as much as anybody, if not more. We will do everything but sign. Even if I did sign I believe in California the law is I have 3 days to change my mind if they solicit me. The other thing is we don't even own this house, we rent it from a property management company. My signature wouldn't matter, because I don't have the right or the authority. After all is written and the dates are set I plan to ask them if it matters whether we own the place. The best thing to happen after that is I get slugged. I can't wait. The only problem is I haven't been home to answer the phone but I have a record of every call. I have discovered how a lot of these telemarketers get the information that they do. I have been searching for a job lately and a lot of online apps that you fill out use a third party where you must give them a little information such as phone number, name and address. They tell you that you must fill out the companies app that is on their site and then they will redirect you to the page that is where you fill out the real app. You don't want to give a fake name or # because it is for a job. Meanwhile that third party will do what ever they want with your information. I have been able to retrace things and could tell what I did just before I started to get calls.
