Good idea to stay away from companies that cold call you and tell you they are ready to perform tax services for you.  They go around checking notices of tax liens which are public records and are recorded at the county recorders office.  Then they cold call the named parties and offer services to deal with the tax liability connected with the lien.

A telemarketer who cold calls and offers any kind of service should be suspect.  Tax services even more so, since you don't really know the qualifications of the person calling you or the workers of the entity he or she claims to represent.  

Generally only CPAs, Attorneys who specialize in taxes and Enrolled Agents should be dealing with any sort of agreement with the IRS on any issue.

If your company is legal, why are you calling for my mom? She is legally mentally handicapped.
