None. These scammer debt collectors rely on fear and threats. They rarely, if ever, go to court. In order to go to court they would have to associate with an attorney licensed to practice in your state. In that instance you would receive a letter from the attorney for the other side. There would be a paper trail. You would NOT have first heard about a civil case from some scammery-scummery debt collector who cold calls you and demands money. If a case were filed, then you'd have to be served with process by a process server licensed to serve process in your state or locality. This group is located in California. If they have a valid debt aainst you demand that htey send you a debt validation letter by US mail. E-miail no good. Of course they won't do this, so simply ingore and block the calls.
Call blocker might be of some help. Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd. Or where there is no caller ID.
Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a dime until the debt is validated
If they are bothering you, report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a clear violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.
You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them. Tell 'em no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.
You have to get tuff with these people because, being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking). the only thing they understand.

"This company has several offices, not just at the Fairview St location. They are also at 1820 E Garry Ave #107, Santa Ana, CA 92705 and “Worldwide Asset Recoveries LLC” is at 2641 Hamner Ave #209 Norco CA 92704. There is a Nevada LLC called Worldwide Asset Recoveries: See: http://nvsos.gov/sosentitysearch/CorpDetails. ... 253d%253d&nt7=0
Also go by the name of Huntington Group
They have another office in Huntington Beach as well. All scam offices ran by James Trent."
Apparently Trent's employees are considered independent contractors. So their compensation is based on their own individual performance, they don't get a salary per se. Which explains a lot of the rudeness and law violations that occur with these companies.

I get called from Asset Recovery and James Evans Law Office. They never say they are debt collectors. They do stated that it is an attempt to notify before further proceedings & they need a return call within 24 hours. I don't know what this is about. Are there ramifications if no phone call is made???
Got a call from this number. I had him on speaker so my wife can hear. He told my past address and even credit cards I have had from a long time ago. Said the last 4 of my social, then i Told them I don't have the income to pay outstanding bills. And he then called me a deadbeat and told my to tell my girlfriend to shut her trap! He said he was going to put a warrant out for my arrest and that the one company is suing me. Don't know what to think after reading above comments. Any help? Also, they didn't tell me his name/ company they work for.
If they talked to you, then that is first contact and they are required to do the following. Use the information and the links to your advantage. Do not be bullied into paying. also read CWG40's post for the company information.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
