A fellow called who sounded like a farmer in OK or TX. He stated that I had a problem with the IRS. When I asked him to describe the problem, he had no idea what I was talking about. So, I asked him who has the details. He provided a case number and told me to call David Williams, my case officer at 716-200-1196. My daughter, a friend who is a CPA, and an attorney friend of mine who is a CPA and listed as one of the top tax attorneys in the world do my taxes. In fact, this attorney writes legislation for the IRS. After about 15 calls, David Williams answered stating, "This is the IRS Office, David Williams speaking." I gave him the case number and we were immediately disconnected.
They call claiming to be the IRS -I called back and told them I was working with the police and they called me a '[***] [***]' and hung up on me. Classy and not too bright.
There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.
USA tax payers should read this:

Moron calling posing as an IRS agent. Message left stated that me or my lawyer must call back immediately the second I get this information. Talked with a heavy accent but left a common name. I didn't return call but I recommend that this immigrant go phuck himself or get a real job.
