the scammers will answer your ad seeming to be genuinely interested in your item.(usually use "is your item still available"? they will ask you to hold the item for them,& that they will get the money order to you right away to pay for the item.they usually pay by money order or western union.BEWARE!the "money" they send is not real.often they send very real looking money orders.do not fall for it!your bank will cash the money order & you will get in huge trouble when they find out the whole thing was fraud.the worse part, the scammers will send extra money, more than the item cost.they will say they made a mistake & will kindly ask you to return the overpayment.being an honest person, you send them back the extra money, your real money! weeks or months later, when your bank catches up & finds out the money order was fake or the money didn't clear, you will get in trouble & will be out whatever money you sent these scumbags.please google money scams to avoid becoming a victim.
Craigslist scammer. Typical MO. Asks that you take your add off to "keep the item in his favor". Says he sent payment but his assistant made a mistake and sent more money and asks if he can trust you to return the money by Western Union. Plus he added an additional $50 to hold the item. Truly a scam. Beware!
Same as the others. I knew it was a scam as soon as I saw 'money order' and $50 additional for holding. I told the person cash only, then I never heard back. Don't respond to this scammer!
