I received a blocked call today from a male caller indicating he was calling me from my state government office and that he had papers to be served, and that I needed to call this number in order to be served those legal papers. What a scam these guys have going! He gave me this number 716-213-6172 to call.
This man called my family and harassed them over a bad check that I supposely gave for a payday loan. Which was strange since i never took out a loan and the bank account that they provided for me was an old bank account that i stopped using 2 years ago. I finally called this person and he goes by the name Jonathon Broxton. He had told me that I took out a loan online and that ive been sued for a bad check and if I dont settle it now, he was going to take me to court for fraud and other stuff. As I naive and scared as I am I believed him and I was stupid enough to give him my card info because he told me even though I said I didnt do it but its under my name and social and that I was respondsible for it still.. Be aware of these people they are scam artists. They pretend to be legal attorneys!
got a call from this number at 10:30pm on a monday night! they said they were from PORTFOLIO RECOVERY GROUP, and the woman was harrassing me saying that if I didn't give her a credit card number to settle an online loan that was taken in my name, that they would sue me over this. it scared the poo outta me, but I knew this scam had been happening in the area because my mom workes at the local bank and she said that recently alot of people were getting scammed by these and other fraudsters, so please beware!!!!!! I hope this info helped others out there. these jerks are creul and vile nasty frauds! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!
i received a call from miss allen at portfolio recovery group.. turned out that i had a payday loan from 1 yr ago that was not yet paid that i had forgot about.. they sent me all the info that i requested and miss allen was very nice and respectful.. she didnt treat me as a person in debt, she treated me as a normal human being and it was great working with her.. my loan is now paid off!!!! feels great. so if there are people out there that wonder who this is calling you.. dont worry she will help. and she will set an arrangment up with u that works for you.. not worth going to court for!
