They just called me again. This time l picked up the phone and no one was there. After a long pause, I got a fast busy signal, the kind you get when a number is out of order. WTF?!
They called again today at least three times and each time was cut off after the first ring (just enough to identify the number for my call blocker device which has this number programmed now). I laugh since they will never reach me or get past one ring. I called it back (usually I don't) and the recording just said it was a survey and they would call again but no option to leave a number, which frankly, if you do, they know it is a live number and will continue to either call or pass it on. I have decided, whether or not it is a political call or survey, both of which are exempt from donotcall, to file a complaint anyway each time they call. The donotcall registry needs to know that do not call means just that, do not call and I should be able to choose from whom I receive calls, especially when caller id indicates "unknown name". Definitely a scam call, legitimate companies show their company name. Perhaps if more people did this, it may make a difference.
