An unknown male with an odd way of speaking claimed to be Officer Alex Foster, left a voicemail on our answering machine. He said that he needed to hear from us or our attorney immediately and we should not ignore the call. If we do, then good luck, he said. My husband called on a cell phone several times and finally reached this individual who stated he was from the IRS and then hung up. I thought it was probably a scam and found this forum.
Called similar as others have posted. I was able to record the entire message, here's the script:
By the way, thick accent and bad pronunciation
"Is extremely time sensitive, this is officer Adams called and my number is 716-780-4155 again is 716 now don't try to disregard this message and do return the call if you dont return the call or if i dont hear from your attorney either the only thing i can do is wish you good luck as situcations falls on you thank you and good bye"
I received a call from 716-780-4155. The caller left a message stating that I should not ignore this call and if they did not hear from me or my lawyer then "good luck" and the actions to come are on me. The English was horrible. He never identified himself, where he was calling from or who he was trying to reach. I recently changed my name and assumed that he was trying to reach someone else. When I tried to call them back to tell them the had the wrong number it rings and rings, but no one answers or it's a busy signal.
a man with a thick accent left a voice mail stating that he was Officer adam scott (NO WAY, not with that accent) and that I or my attorney needed to call back or else. He said if I don't hear from you or your attorney, all I can do is wish you good luck with all that is about to befall on me. It was very menacing. I knew it couldn't be real as no police officer is going to wish you good luck, they just come and get you if you've done something wrong.
