They call here about once a week and it's a scam against the elderly. They want you to sign up for an "I've fallen and I can't get up" kind of service. But what's really evil about it is they say someone has already paid for it for you, like a gift — but then they will start charging you.
Very annoying. These obnoxious medical alert device scammers change the phone number every few weeks so the Feds can not catch up with them. I happened to walk into the house at 1225 pm PDT today and the phone rang, and it was the same scam, but different this time. It has always been a woman before, maybe a few words, and then would hang up. Or they would hang up right after the answering machine came on. This time it was a man in perfect English speaking for well over a minute on the medical alert device. I shut off the phone after a minute. Now these obnoxious people want to fill up the message box? How likely would anyone be to have a thing to do with idiots that do that?
As long as they didn't leave you a message, I'll let you know who the callers were. The callers were the medic alert for seniors scammers. There is an article in the current AARP Bulletin that warns of, and explains the scam, that is well worth the reading.
