Customer Care from 717-230-1178 - I don't think so...
Received a no message call from this number soon after getting one from this number:
Starnet Paetec or Paetec Starnet take your pick called yesterday and then just moments ago - again no message.
My research found that they,Paetec were bought up by Windstream which I think is an energy provider. Who we have gotten calls from before:
717-484-8110 D & E Windstream utility scam? 6.13, 7.13 8,13
Adamstown, PA came soon after:
484-359-2848 robocall scam ?
never leaves message.
Since I don't pick up unknown numbers and they don't leave messages, I'd say we are even.

I read an article in the paper in February that basically says anyone in Pennsylvania who has switched electric providers will get these calls from other companies until, and if when ever the Electric providers are deregulated. Doesn't matter who your provider is they have to give out your number. There may be a way in writing to stop it, but if you didn't do it right away you are stuck getting these calls. The whole idea was to let other power companies try an divide the monopoly of one or two big companies. But it back fired because of two things. One) most folks didn't want to switch and Two) Those companies trying to sway you just are not polite. There is a difference between dead air calls or telemarketers telling you that you are a twit if you don't switch to them or asking you politely how they can better your electric rate. It seems most of the hired hands would rather be rude. I don't see them having great success with that tactic. And I don't know other than reporting the number how to stop them. Since they don't clearly identify themselves. Coming up in Caller ID like this latest number will not get me to answer the phone.
We get these calls constantly. Penelec is our electric provider, but these other companies are allowed to call you and attempt to lure you in with lower rates, but what they don't tell you is that the lower rate is temporary, variable, and in some cases tied to the price of natural gas. A couple of weeks ago, our local tv station did a story about the folks who switched to some of the "lower cost" providers. These people are now getting bills double, triple and even worse from the new providers. These people didn't read the fine print and thought they were getting a deal, when in reality, they had bills that went from $75 a month to $400-$500 and even worse. Not only are the calls annoying, but what they are selling isn't good for the majority of folks. If you do decide to switch providers, be sure to do your homework!
I got the same call from 717-230-1178 saying I was eligible for a rate reduction from (PPL). I know that PPL would not call, they would send me that kind of information. I hung up.
Then I called the # back and a recording came on saying "if you wish to be removed from this caller list, please press 1". I pressed 1. Sure hope that doesn't put me on for more call.
