These a-holes also used telephone number 717-271-7356 a few weeks ago which I blocked. Now I have to block this number. They always seem to call on a Sunday night at 8:30. If they are legit, very little money ever goes to the charity when a telemarketer is involved. m-er f-ers
i just got a call on my land line. i get at least 3 calls a day from this number for the last several weeks. answered, but didn't say anything. a recorded woman's voice said "good bye". i called it back from my cell phone and a man answered and thanked me for calling back and said it was a State Police fund raiser. I cut him off and told him to put me on the "do not call list". he was saying he would and i hung up.
i want to call the State Police barracks and find out if it was legitimate, but i live near where that killer murdered the State Trooper and the manhunt is still going on. So i don't know if i will.
i just called my local police dept. the officer said he doubted it was the State Police calling about a fund raiser. the officer also said to beware if the number on your caller id says "911". an elderly woman came into the police dept and said she sent a check for several hundred dollars to a man, who said she owed money. she sent the money, she said, because he said he was from "911".
State Police are employees of the Commonwealth and are forbidden by law to fund raise so it is not them. Most likely it's a group that have been sued by the States for illegal distribution of fund raising. Over 90% goes to the managers and callers for salary and the rest distributed throughout the country. These people are scams. State Police get medical and pensions like many and do not need fundraising to support them.
