I received an SMS TEXT MESSAGE from 717-329-5235 alerting me that "Your CARD starting with 4108 has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 717-553-6918" - This is obviously a PHISHING attempt. Do not respond to these messages.
mine is exactly the same - asking me to call 717-553-6918. My area code, and I do have a credit union account. Just not with 4108 starting number. They're getting clever in their old ages....but DO NOT CALL THEM under any circumstances!
I received a message from someone they are my credit union...altho it doesn't identify which one (clue #1 that something is wrong)...My credit union would not resort to a text, they would be professional and call. I did call the number just to see what it says and (clue #2), it identified itself quickly as a company I don't recognize and immediatley asked me to put my credit card number in. I'm reporting this to the FAA.
