Okay, for starters... you cant be arrested for not paying a loan. Your credit will take a massive hit, but you canNOT be arrested. These are scare tatics.

Demand that he send everything in writing and that you will no longer be dealing with him over the phone from this point on. If he refuses to send you paper work, he isnt legit.

Also, call the company you ACTUALLY owe the money to and talk to them. Chances are, they're going to tell you its a scam. So long as you're paying the money to the person you owe, you're fine.

Attorney
I've been called by this number about thirty times at my law office in the last hour. I figured out that the number if a VOIP number provided by Bandwidth.com.  I called and spoke to a woman in Bandwidth.com's legal department.
Here is her number: (919.439.3571)  I recommend EACH OF YOU Call her and tell her what is happening.

I emailed her as well and here was the response:

"Thank you for your note and making us aware of this matter.

The number you reference is assigned to one of our large customers who in turn may have assigned it to an end user -  therefore, we are not the direct provider of the number to the end user. I have given our customer a heads-up on your concern.

A variety of laws (including federal laws related to Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)) prohibits us from releasing our customer of record name to you, however, If you are working with local law enforcement they will know how to serve us with a subpoena or court order.

Below you will find our contact/service information.
