I just got a call from this number too. He said that I had won a trip to the Bahamas from a ballet that I had filled out at Canada Blooms last weekend. He was very persistent about me giving him my credit card info so that I could pay for the $299 deposit. The whole thing seemed totally off to me so I just said no.
OMG! i got really excited, but then i knew it was a scam, they wanted my credit card info. Im only 16 years old and i dont think i should be getting these calls. I signed up randomly at the mall last week. I really want to go talk to the guy who told me to sign up, i dislike these stupid scam calls so so much.
Yeah, got the same call today. They said they were from FBC Vacations (Forever Bahama Cruise Vacations...or something like that). I told them I wasn't available to talk because I was at work so they said they would call me back later. Something felt strange about the call, so I'm glad I told them I was busy. I'll definitely be saying no if they call back.
My friend and I had signed ballots and entered them into a draw at a country music festival. My friend called me at work yesterday and was so excited that she won a trip to the Bahamas...she told me how she drilled the guy for an hour about how it was a scam and he kept saying "why would we do that?". She gave him her info and credit card number...then today at work I got a phone call from a guy named "Ronald" at FBC vacations who told me I won a trip to the Bahamas.. I was working so he said he would call me back. I told my friend and she canceled her credit card and the credit card company is watching for suspicious behaviour on her new card. Now the keeps calling me and doesn't leave voicemail or anything. I hope they catch those losers they're wasting everyone's time.
A friend of mine told me that the wedding shows, festivals, etc.. they just get paid to put up random booths and the have nothing to do with it! That is horrible, had I known i was putting my name in for a scam I wouldn't have gone near that booth!
I got the same call, and initially fully believed it because I remember filling out a ballot at my local festival. unfortunately i gave my information, but then realized and hung up. I didn't go through with the second half of the call that was meant to record and confirm your information. I called my bank to change my credit number instantly. This recording is apparently what these people use to confirm that you authorized them charging this fee if you dispute it.
Just got the call, yeah hard to get the name out of them, said I won just have to pay $299/person (2)plus processing and port fees ($149)...not so free! Now just give your credit card number you have a year to use this...blah blah blah. Sucks, got all excited and then realized it was a scam! Don't bother answering if you get the call. They are meant to call back in 30mins, after I check them out...doubt they will cal! I also informed Better Buisness Bureau and they were very helpful.
