Indian accent with an American name stating that they were calling from the some sort of government agency and that I received a grant. LOL. Then wanted to Western Union me money. HAHA!
trying to get us to pay $2996 (a supposed irs debt) so an arrest warrant can be cancelled. I told them I would have to cal the IRS to verify this. Their number is 718-303-2161.
My elderly mother with dementia just called me to say she got a phone call from the IRS. I stopped her cold and explained it was a scam. The IRS would NEVER call a taxpayer. Unfortunately, she can't remember if she told them her SSN. She thinks she did. The phone number was 718-303-2161.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
One important thing to remember if these losers have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

This number called today and treated my family with arrest because we did something wrong with our taxes (which we did not) . They represent themselves as the IRS people . It is very scary experience. I have found out that this number is calling from New York .Please inform the FBI about them.Here they are….
