They've been hammering us quite a bit.(Berks County, PA) 'Out of Area' it says. I finally answered it today. He asked for my mum and I said she was out. I then got stern and asked who and why they keep calling. He got defensive and said, "This was the first time I've called. My name is William Moffit." Dude was full of it. When they call again I'm requesting that they remove my number from their rolls, reiterate we're on the do-not-call list and will threaten to report them for harassment. I've had all I can stands and I can't stands no more! Power to the people. :)
Received several calls from this number. I do not know who it is....if I want a phone call from them I will give them my number. Please report to "do not call" list.

This is a call on behalf of a non-profit organization. As such these SOBs are exempt from the DNC laws. I refer to them as "TeleBeggars" Although they are exempt from the DNC law they get all the same information from those idiots in Government who are supposed to be guarding our backs. This means they have free access to EVERY number phone number on the DNC registry. And even worse...since they are "acting on behalf of a non-profit organization" they do not pay income taxes on the portion of the money they receive from the donor (usually 90% fo the total) because it was used for "administration, and educating the public about the cause for which they are collecting" Your best response is to state right up front "I don't contribute to ANY ORGANIZATION that solicits via the telephone" That won't stop them but if they got the same response from everyone, their income would dry up and they would go out of business. BTW-some legitimate charities like the Salvation Army may call during times of natural disaster. The callers are all volunteers and in these cases 90% of the funds collected go to the cause for which they are collecting. But even so, they will send you a request via mail if you ask. The TeleBeggars resist this request because it can open them to mail fraud charges and the telemarketing company running the Telebeggar operation does not get credit for your donation if you send it via mail.
Got call from this number at 5:05 ET today. I did not answer and caller did not leave message. This has happened at least five times over the last two weeks. And my phone number is registered on the DNC list. It is also a cell phone number so you can see how much respect this outfit has for the law.
I am receiving calls from this number almost every day now. They even know my name and ask for me. One time I answered just to see who this outfit was. It was asking money for breast cancer patients.
I have my number on the DNC list, but this outfit doe not care about these "formalities".
Over the last couple of years, I've never had so many calls from these non-profits. Look up how much money the "CEO" of a "charity" gets, and you will faint.
I really wish someone put the hammer down on these "charities".
