I just recvd a call that purportedly was from 718-362-8024
I picked up without thinking, it was silent for a long delay.... following the usual pattern of a robo-dialer.
So I hung up, then tried to call the number back after blocking my ID with *67
Says number "does not exist or has not been allocated".
How do I find out the real number they are dialing from?
I want to really [***] with them.
The DNC list was set up as a non functioning sounding board, this issue is too big for the government to actually be effective in an attempt to enforce it. Although your # is on the DNC List you will still receive calls, callers program a series of #’s into their system and the computer calls one after another, your # will be somewhere in the mix.
I’ve resorted to only answering the phone if I recognize the caller; the answer machine has been shut off so there is no physical contact whether person or voice mail; this action identifies the # as no response and the calls stop. It’s a shame to have to do this, but it’s better than giving these parasites ammunition to continue to be a pain in the butt.
